The Lady & Son's Restaurant in Savannah Georgia

Recently I took a trip to Savannah, Georgia where we had a fantastic dinner at Paul Deen's restaurant, The Lady and Son's. If you have never gotten the chance to eat here, you will want to do so. It is more like a family style, sit down dinner where everything is brought in big bowls for everyone to share. This was great for us, as we have different taste buds.

I am one that never eats meatloaf, but for some reason it sounded delicious. I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty the recipe was. The kids even laughed at me when I said Meat Loaf, but once they tasted it, it was the best meatloaf they ever had they said.

I decided when I got home that I was going to try my hand at making this and it was a hit. You can serve this with a side of mashed potatoes and yummy green beans. I love this dinner because it is so simple to make and so delicious. This will go on your list as the best meatloaf recipe ever.

The key to any recipe is organizing all of your ingredients before you are ready to prepare. This will guarantee that you will not miss any ingredients as each one adds to the deliciousness of this meatloaf recipe.

What you will need;

1 lb ground beef

1 1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

1/2 cup chopped onion

1/2 cup chopped bell pepper

1 lightly beaten egg

1/4 cup bread crumbs

Topping

2/3 cup ketchup

4 tablespoons brown sugar

2 tablespoon mustard

Preheat oven to 375 °F.

Mix ground beef, salt, pepper, onion, bell pepper, egg, and bread crumbs together well and place in a baking dish. Shape into a loaf.

Topping:

Mix ketchup, brown sugar and mustard and spread on the loaf. I always keep some on the side and add more about a half-hour into baking. Bake for 1 hour.
