Lowe’s Kids’ Workshops (formerly known as Lowe’s Build and Grow) continue to be a favorite for families—and it’s easy to see why. These hands-on workshops are completely free, give kids a fun way to explore DIY skills, and offer parents an enjoyable opportunity to participate alongside their children. It’s no surprise they consistently land on our list of must-know Lowe’s hacks.
While a full workshop announcement hasn’t been released yet, Lowe’s is teasing the next Kids’ Workshop with a “Something BIG is Coming!” message. The Lowe’s website currently lists an in-store event scheduled for January 5, 2026, though specific project details and registration information have not yet been shared.
Lowe’s Kids’ Workshops are similar to popular programs like Home Depot Kids Workshops and free Michaels classes. Each month, kids get to complete a different hands-on project. Past workshops have included builds like toy trucks, butterfly habitats, and tic-tac-toe games. Lowe’s also offers a Senior Builders program, which may be transitioning to a digital format that rewards kids based on the number of workshops they attend.
If you’re considering attending a Lowe’s Kids’ Workshop, this guide will help you track upcoming workshop dates and understand how to register ahead of time. We’ll continue to update this post as soon as Lowe’s officially opens registration or releases additional details.
What Are Lowe’s Kids’ Workshops?
Lowe’s DIY-U Kids’ Workshops are free, monthly in-store events where kids can build a hands-on project on a Saturday. Each workshop is designed to be fun, educational, and easy for kids to follow along.
During every workshop, participants receive a free kit that includes all the materials needed to complete the project. With safety goggles on, kids work at in-store wooden worktables while assembling their builds. Each month features a different project, often tied to a seasonal theme, so no two workshops are exactly the same.
Lowe’s has also hinted that future workshops may include digital elements, such as digital badges replacing physical ones. Participation may require a free MyLowe’s Rewards account, though full details have not yet been officially confirmed.
Lowe’s Kids’ Workshops are typically held one Saturday per month from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with four session times available during that window so families can choose what works best for them.
These workshops are best suited for kids ages 4–11, but children of all ages are welcome to attend. Age is not strictly enforced, and no birthday checks at the door (at least not yet!). To register, families can sign up directly through the Lowe’s DIY-U Kids’ Workshops page.
