Trying the local flavor

Of course, no cuisine is better represented than Thailand’s own, and those who have a love of bold flavors and aromatic dishes are certain to find themselves drawn to all sorts of dishes. Thai street food is where you will find some of the best authentic eating experiences in the city, with Pad Thai being the most widely palatable, but those who love a bit of spice are definitely going to want to try Tom Yum Goong.

Enjoy some European fusio

If you’re coming in from the West, and you’re relatively new to Thai cuisine, then you might want to dip your toe before jumping into the deep end. You’re in luck, as there are plenty of options for choosing an Italian restaurant in Bangkok. This includes a host of pizzerias and fine dining spots. Aside from the classic Italian fare, like pasta dishes, there are plenty of restaurants that offer great fusions with local recipes, which can make for a great way to try out some Thai flavors in more familiar setups.

Select some sushi spots

Another cuisine that has a lot of representation in the city is Japanese cuisine. Thailand sees a lot of visitors and immigrants from the Land of the Rising Sun, and they have brought with them a wide range of creative sushi spots doing all manner of interesting fusions with local cuisine. There are also some great ramen and tempura spots, and the city also hosts a fair share of Japanese festivals, during which you can try rarer delights like takoyaki, which are octopus balls.

Hit up Chinatow

Bangkok’s cultural diversity goes a lot deeper than its food alone, and to see that, you only need to visit Chinatow. Of course, in doing so, you will also find yourself surrounded by places offering all manner of traditional and modern Chinese dishes, from dim sum to Peking Duck, and more. It’s also a great spot for grabbing a bite before heading out for the night, as Yaowarat (aka Chinatown) is one of the better-known spots for its exhilarating nightlife.

Variety is spice

Indian cuisine in Bangkok reflects the diverse culinary traditions of India, with restaurants offering North Indian, South Indian, and Mughlai dishes. Areas like Phahurat, often referred to as Little India, are hubs for Indian food. Here, you can find authentic Indian eateries serving dishes like butter chicken, biryani, dosas (savory crepes), and samosas.

Even picky eaters can find a lot to love about Bangkok and its wide range of restaurants and eateries spanning a whole host of cultures and cuisines. However, going in with an open heart (and an open mouth) is the best way to really enjoy your time.
