    1. We asked 2 dollar general stores and they both said that they were told by the managers to take all the penny stuff off the shelves. That they are not doing their jobs if it is on the shelves. When I asked how do we get it then, I was “told you can not because we don’t sale anything for a penny.” Not sure who is responsible, but this is definitely false advertising.

    2. Penny items are NOT supposed to be on the shelves for sale. They are NOT supposed to be there. It is a treasure hunt to find these items. It is NOT a “SALE.” The items are marked down to be removed from the floor by the sales associates and either thrown away or sent back to the warehouse. If you don’t have time to treasure hunt, this hobby is NOT for you.

  3. I was just at the dollar general with my mom we were both so excited about this penny sale cat food dog food party supplies for my grandsons 2 birthday . My mom just got diagnosed with lung cancer and she is going through a lot and I haven’t seen her light up as much as she did about this sale well we get and nothing we scanned was a penny very disappointing and pissed

  4. The list is on here. Just screen shot pictures of it. It can easily be enlarged. Actually the easiest way is to scan everything in clearance since the list is so big.

  16. Do I need to download some app or something? Or buy at regular price and do something to get a rebate? Or can I just walk in and buy items for a penny?

You’ll need to download the Dollar General app & then when you’re in store you’ll want to make sure you have the correct location loaded on the app, on the app there’s an item scanner which you’ll use to scan the items she’s listed and it will show $0.00 OR $0.01 if they’re PENNY ITEMS. 😃 Hope this helps & best wishes. 😁😁😁
