Dollar General Agrees to $8.5 Million Class Action Settlement — You Could Be Owed Money

Dollar General has agreed to an $8.5 million class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims that customers were charged different prices at the register than what was advertised on store shelves.

If you shopped at Dollar General between October 10, 2016, and November 19, 2025, you may be eligible for cash compensation and an in-store discount.

What Is the Dollar General Lawsuit About?

The class action lawsuit alleges that Dollar General charged customers higher prices at checkout than the prices displayed on shelf labels, which plaintiffs say violated consumer protection laws.

While Dollar General denies any wrongdoing, the company agreed to the settlement to resolve the claims.

You may be included in this settlement if:

  • You are a consumer in the United States, and
  • You paid more or less than the shelf price for merchandise at a Dollar General store

All class members — even without proof — are eligible for:

  • $3 off a $10 purchase (pre-tax)
  • Valid at any Dollar General store nationwide
  • Redeemable during a two-day window (dates to be announced)
