Instructions For Scallion Pancakes Recipe


• Dough Preparation: combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour and 1/2 tsp of salt in a bowl.

• Gradually stir in 1/2 cup of boiling water.

• Mix in 1/4 cup of cool water to form a soft dough.

• Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.

• Filling Creation: in a separate bowl, mix 1/4 cup + 2 tbsp of all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup of your chosen oil, and 3/4 tsp of salt.

• Incorporate 1 cup of chopped green onions into the mixture to create the filling.

• Rolling and Filling: Divide the rested dough into 4 portions.

• Roll out one portion into a thin rectangle on a floured surface.

• Evenly spread a portion of the prepared filling over the dough.

• Roll the dough tightly to create a log, then coil it into a spiral shape. Gently flatten the spiral.

• Cooking: Roll out the coiled dough again into a thin pancake.

• Heat a skillet over medium heat and add vegetable oil.

• Place the rolled-out pancake in the skillet and cook until both sides are golden brown.

• Repeat the Process: Repeat the rolling and filling process with the remaining dough and filling.

• Serving: Cut the cooked pancakes into wedges and serve the hot scallion pancakes with your preferred dipping sauce.
