The Big Mac is undeniably one of the most iconic fast food burgers in the world. Introduced by McDonald's in 1967, it quickly became a fan favorite and has remained a staple on their menu ever since. The classic combination of two beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, and onions sandwiched between three layers of sesame seed buns has been satisfying cravings for generations.

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients For Copycat McDonalds Big Mac Recipe

Big Mac Sauce

3 tablespoons mayo

3 tablespoons small diced onions

3 tablespoons sweet pickle relish

3 tablespoons ketchup

1 tablespoon mustard

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon smoked paprika

¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 teaspoons white wine vinegar

Burgers

1 pound ground beef, 4 patties

Salt

Black pepper

8 Sesame seed burger buns

Shredded Lettuce

Dill Pickles

4 slices of american cheese

Directions:

  1. Start by making the big mac sauce. In a small mixing bowl add the mayo, diced onions, pickle relish, ketchup, mustard, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne, and white wine vinegar all at once.

  2. Mix with a spoon until all the ingredients are completely combined. Set aside for later.

  3. In a large bowl, add the ground beef, salt and pepper. Use clean hands to blend the seasonings into the meat until distributed. Divide the meat into 4 balls to create patties.

  4. Flatten each ball into about a 3.5 inch in diameter patty in the frying pan before turning the heat on.

  5. Turn the stove on medium high heat and let the patties cook on the first side for about 5 minutes. Then flip and let cook for another 3 minutes on the other side.

  6. Remove from the heat and then place the cheese slices on top of each patty, letting it melt.

  7. Start assembling the big mac. Place the bottom half of the bun on a plate. Then top with some of the homemade sauce you set aside. Then add one patty. Top with 2 pickles and then some shredded lettuce.

  8. Place another bottom half of a bun on top of the lettuce. Add more sauce, then the patty, pickles and lettuce. If you want an extra saucy burger, add sauce to the top bun too, before place it on top of the last layer of shredded lettuce to finish the Big Mac.

  9. Repeat this with the second burger. Serve and enjoy while warm!
