Sausage Crescent Rolls

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb bulk pork sausage regular or spicy
  • 1/2 cup diced red pepper
  • 1 8 oz cream cheese
  • 2 tubes 8 oz each crescent rolls
  • Kosher or sea salt
  • Black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 green onion sliced (topping, optional)
  • tomatoes diced, optional for topping

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Silicone mat

Method
 

  1. Preheat a skillet to medium-high and cook sausage with salt and pepper until browned. Add diced red pepper and cook until softened. Stir in cream cheese until combined.
  2. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Unroll crescent rolls into rectangles, sealing perforations.
  3. Spread sausage mixture over the dough, roll tightly, and freeze for one hour.
  4. Slice logs into pieces and bake at 350°F for 15–18 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Serve warm with optional toppings.
